Ajit Shah

Ajit Shah’s career spans thirty years across a broad range of roles including scientist, entrepreneur, operating executive, board member, venture investor and strategic advisor to a wide range of organizations from technology and healthcare startups to Global 500 businesses. He has helped pioneer fundamental technology advances in enterprise software, data center infrastructure, consumer products, medical devices and biotechnology. Mr. Shah’s focus has been on identifying and executing emerging market opportunities created by advances in information technology. To date, his efforts have helped create in excess of $75 Billion of shareholder value for public and private companies in technology and healthcare.

Mr. Shah’s entrepreneurial experience encompasses over 100 Silicon Valley startups in enterprise software and healthcare. His venture experience includes General Partner of Worldview Technology Partners where he co-managed $1.75B in assets and Sierra Ventures, where he focused on software and healthcare technology investments. Mr. Shah’s experience includes strategic advisor to Streamlined Ventures and Scientific Advisory Board for HealthCor Partners, a New York based multi-billion dollar hedge fund and private equity firm.  Mr. Shah has also served in a broad range of advisory roles to leading academic institutions including the College of Engineering at UC Berkeley and Masters in Translational Medicine program at UCSF. 

To date, Mr. Shah has served as founder, operational executive, advisor and investor across a collection of more than one hundred organizations including Google, Salesforce, Virident (acquired by Western Digital), Intuitive Surgical (Public: ISRG), Fineground Networks (acquired by Cisco), Heartport (acquired by J&J), Ajida Technologies (acquired by Symantec), Fulcrum Microsystems (acquired by Intel), Epicor (acquired by St. Jude), Aeluros (acquired by NetLogic), Nusemi (acquired by Cadence), Hospira (acquired by Pfizer), SeeCommerce (acquired by TeraData), Kanisa (acquired by Knova) and Veran Medical (acquired by Olympus Medical) . These efforts have led to a broad network of thought leaders across G500 companies, startups and leading academic institutions that provide unique access and insight across the enterprise software and healthcare industry.

Mr. Shah received his B.S. in mechanical engineering with highest distinctions from the University of California, Berkeley. He went on to earn his M.S. in electrical engineering as a Bell Labs Fellow from Stanford University. He received his joint Ph.D. from the College of Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley and the School of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco.
