Kevin Wells

After a 30 year career in software engineering, Kevin Wells has returned to his science roots as the first Executive Director of the Stanford Institute for Theoretical Physics. Kevin works closely with the renowned physicists at the Institute, managing operations and strategic planning. Prior to Stanford, Kevin led the Core OS networking teams at Apple Inc. This group is responsible for IP networking and related technologies across all of Apple's iOS and OS X products. Kevin’s role at Apple capped a 30 year career as a software engineering executive. He repeatedly demonstrated successful leadership in creating and scaling high-growth businesses. Kevin developed deep industry experience in the consumer electronics, enterprise hardware and software, Internet, aerospace, and medical device sectors during his career at leading innovators including NeXT, Disney, Medtronic, Naverus, and Apple.
