đź‘‹ Meet the Team: Kathy Truong

Though petite, she's a force to be reckoned with. Kathy Truong arrived in the United States when she was just two years old, as a refugee who fled Vietnam on a boat. Her mom has since continued to joke that Kathy is the shortest of her three sisters due to the lack of milk on the journey!

As her parents worked to rebuild their lives in California, Kathy remembers the crucial social safety net programs that enabled them to meet basic needs and eventually continue on their path to success. Since then, Kathy has been inspired to give back to her community through a career in public service and impact investing, and she’s particularly passionate about the power of collaboration between the public and private sectors to create positive change. Combining the government's legislative clout with the innovative prowess of entrepreneurs, she envisions a world transformed by NosTerra’s efforts.

Kathy has “3 empowering M's”:
Movement — Kathy's mind, body and spirit are in harmony when she's on the move. Hit her up to hike, bike, run, play tennis or discuss new ideas!

Mentoring — As a board member of the Vietnamese American Professional Women’s Network of Silicon Valley, Kathy works to support the next generation in achieving their personal and professional goals.

Matcha — It’s more than a drink to Kathy: It's her ritual of self-care and determination. With each sip, she says, she “acknowledges her journey, honors her strength, and fortifies her resolve to conquer the day.”

Kathy loves living in San Jose (with her husband, dog, and cat) where she can be close to her family, and to delicious food and vibrant greenery.
